South Africa-The Rainbow Nation



South Africa is called a Rainbow Nation because of its Unity and multiculturalism. The South African flag has six colors which symbolises diversity and Unity. The flag is a clear example of South Africa’s commitment to nondiscrimination. It simple means that people of different race and color coming together as one and appreciating each other’s differences. 

South Africa is a diverse country, it has  nine provinces and eleven languages of which English is a lingua-franca and a medium of instruction.One of the characteristics of South Africa is its diversity in race, language, culture and religion of its people.


South Africa shares its land borders with more countries, it has six different countries as neighbors. These countries are Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Lesotho. This is how blessed South Africa is.
